OLIVIA THE EXPLORER

Did you know that snails can have thousands of teeth? I didn’t know either, but like all good explorers, this week I have been discovering all sorts of things. I found corn flakes in the pantry and tried them for the first time. I have to be honest – I thought they were potato chips at first, but hey, even Columbus made mistakes. Also whilst undertaking an inspection of the pantry, I found this strange looking vegetable called garlic. I managed to peel all the little pieces which was lots of fun. Ate a few, too. Got to admit, though, I did pong for quite some time after.

Hard at work
I think I must have inherited my super hero genes from my mum. I am sure she has super x-ray vision. I can be playing in the kitchen and she will shout “Olivia, get out of the freezer this instant”. Now you have to agree that its pretty spectacular for her to know what I am doing when she is not even around. The kitchen really is my favourite room in the house, and the freezer is my favourite object in it (and there all lots of fabulous things to play with in the kitchen).  Firstly, it has a door that I can open, then inside there all these drawers with frozen stuff in them. I do like the cold, and exploring in freezer leads to all sorts of interesting discoveries of things you don’t find in the pantry. Ice cream and frozen strawberries must be some of the all time greatest discoveries I have made. Dad says its time to put a lock on the freezer door.

This weekend we made a practice birthday cake in preparation for the big day coming up. The cake was huge and mummy says its her best ever. We made orange flavoured icing and of course its my job to lick the mixing bowl. I think we should make practice cakes every day.
